The house is looking better and better all the time. The siding is up!!! We can't wait to see it painted. We love the huge windows.....especially the bay window. The front leaded glass front door is absolutely beautiful. While the outside is looking great, the inside with all of the support beams is like a maze at the moment.

Part of what makes an Energy Star Home more efficient is the use of Energy Lock Radiant Barrier OSB Sheathing.
It is so hot here during the summer..... well for most of the year..... and the sun is so intense it can really heat up your house during the day. We were excited to hear that this special sheathing will help repel the sun's heat. I know Justin is happy about the electric bill being lower.

We have a ROOF! It is definitely looking more like a house from the outside. Every step is very exciting to watch and means we are a step closer to moving in. We can't wait to see the shingles on; hopefully, we picked a good color.

Indoor plumbing is a very important part of a home, which I know I can't imagine living without! We will always be thankful to these guys.

Even though we knew it was 200 square feet bigger than we have know, the slab by itself looked really small. Now that the walls are going up, it is getting easier to visualize the house. We love the layout!!! Luke had a blast "walking through the walls" and knows where to find his room. We can't wait to see all the walls up and the house finished!!! |

It is amazing that just over three weeks ago we started looking at houses to buy. After looking at probably 20+ houses and countless hours on the computer, we explored the idea of building a house. Now the plumbing is complete, and the slab is almost ready to be poured on a New Construction Energy Star home.... our brand new house!!! The house is in a very early stage, but we already feel very confident and comfortable that we made the right choice to build our first home.
